Big3 Scheduled For August 26 at T-Mobile Arena – Mayweather Mcgregor Schedule Conflict

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard about the announcement of the fight that has been set to take place with UFC star Conor McGregor vs one of, if not the greatest pound for pound boxer ever, Floyd Mayweather.

I was just listening to one of the endless reaction videos about the upcoming bout, and Chael Sonnen mentioned how the regular pieces of the puzzle aren’t in place when there is an event going on, and so I decided to take a look at the T-Mobile schedule, and sure enough, there is indeed a Big3 event scheduled for August 26, 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. TMZ also just had an article about this the other day.

One thing that I find interesting about this, is that Big3 is associated with Ice Cube, and there was recently an Instagram post on the Golden Boy Boxing Promotions Instagram page with Ice Cube hyping up the GGG Canelo megafight, slated for September, just a few weeks after the McGregor Mayweather fight is said to be scheduled.

That adds an interesting element, assuming Ice Cube may have some ties to Golden Boy, since clearly the Mayweather McGregor timing offsets that one, and a number of boxing experts say the timing of the McGregor Mayweather fight hurt that one, along with the Ward Kovalev fight that just took place, which was a disappointment for many in how it ended, both the main event and the co-main.

Oscar De La Hoya established Golden Boy Promotions and had expressed his disdain for the McGregor Mayweather match, by penning a letter imploring boxing fans not to support this ‘circus’. I wrote a post about how I think he just helped promote it by doing that, and who knows, maybe that was the intention.

Anyways, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. What if Big3 won’t budge? Will they try to pay them off? Move to another venue? Mayweather has fought all his last fights in Vegas, so it would most likely be there, especially with his Vegas connections, and the Vegas nightclub he has been promoting via social media.

This just adds a little more drama to this fight that everyone is talking about. What do you think?

Update: June 19, 2017

Ice Cube said he will give up the venue for the right price:
