Interesting Connections Between Ice Cube/Golden Boy Promotions & Mcgregor Mayweather Fight

I’m not sure whether to see this as a conspiracy, or one side targeting the other, but the criss-crossing that is going on with dates pertaining things associated with Golden Boy Promotions and the McGregor Mayweather bout is peculiar at the very least, with so many ‘coincidences’ in the timing of things, one has to wonder if there isn’t some kind of intentional agenda going on.

Here are some facts that really make me wonder:

1. Ice Cube Has The August 26th Date at T-Mobile Booked

First off, Mayweather Promotions claimed the date of August 26th 2017 for the mega-fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, which is just over two months after it was announced, which is a pretty short time, but also, Big3 is scheduled on that date, and Ice Cube is behind Big3.

What’s Ice Cube Have To Do With It?

Golden Boy Promotions recently posted a short video clip with Ice Cube promoting the GGG Canelo fight on their Instagram, and that makes you wonder if there is a connection there. He seems to be invested in the fight somehow. At least it seems it is a possibility.

He did just say that he would be willing to give up that date, if the price was right.

2. Miguel Cotto Scheduled For August 26th Fight

Golden Boy Promotions just recently signed Miguel Cotto, and announced he will be fighting on August 26, 2017.

Miguel Cotto is a very well known boxer if you don’t follow boxing, and he fought big names, including Floyd Mayweather.

Of course this is the same date as the Mayweather McGregor fight, and is unlikely to be on an undercard, since Miguel Cotto is a big enough name to be a main event.

3. Oscar De La Hoya Wrote Letter Opposing McGregor Mayweather Fight

Oscar De La Hoya wrote a letter asking people not to support the fight between Floyd and Conor. This happened before the date was announced for the McGregor Mayweather bout.

Could this date be retaliatory to Oscar De La Hoya by clashing with a some Golden Boy dates? Perhaps the biggest fight Golden Boy has ever had, between Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is scheduled for 3 weeks after the McGregor Mayweather fight, so it interferes with the Cotto dates, along with the Golovkin Alvarez dates.

I think this all adds up to something going on, where Mayweather Promotions had Golden Boy in mind for something. Maybe it is some plan that benefits Golden Boy, or a couple moves to swing back at them after the letter De La Hoya wrote? But then for them to schedule a date that Ice Cube had booked is really bizarre.

I am going with Mayweather Promotions giving the proverbial finger to Golden Boy since it is said that Mayweather announced that they were going to stop promoting Golden Boy in early June, immediately after the Golden Boy Chief Executive Richard Schaefer resigned.
