Has Drug Testing Made The UFC Less Exciting?

I was just scanning a roster of an upcoming event, and was thinking meh, not sure I will watch that one, due to the lack of entertaining fighters.

Then I thought about how a number of exciting, explosive fighters, have seemed to lose their zip, and a few of them have tangibly lost their muscle definition. Alistair Overeem and Vitor Belfort both have lost massive muscle definition, and in the most recent fights I have seen them in, they have seemed to slow down quite a bit.

Then I started thinking about a bunch of other big names, and how they all lost, and wondered, is it possible they were all on steroids, like Nate Diaz was so vocal about?

On that note, let’s take a break and enjoy this remix someone made about it:

So, what if all these stars losing had to do with them not being on some sort of performance enhancing drug? The UFC has clearly lost some momentum with it’s stars, whom all seem to be losing lately, or being suspended for other types of drug tests, such as Nick Diaz.

But basically, most of the superstar fighters, have either lost, or been suspended, such as Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Jon Jones, Nick Diaz, Brock Lesnar, etc etc. Others have just become much less exciting, such as Vitor Belfort, Alistair Overeem and B.J. Penn.

Then you have Anderson Silva who definitely lost a little skip in his step, and once again, he too was accused of a banned substance in his system.

Maybe it is age playing a role in all of this, or is it because, everyone was on steroids, and now they all stopped?

Then on the topic of stars falling off, you have the current star of the organization looking into a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

Anyways, this was just something that crossed my mind as I was looking over the upcoming schedule, hoping to see some fighters I love watching, along with pondering the fights I have seen over the past year or so.
