There are many people looking to lose weight and clean out their body to eliminate all of the toxins and junk that is built up in their system. If you’re one of those people, then you might be interested to learn more about the master cleanse.

There are literally thousands of fad diets that spring up every year. Some of them work and some of them do not. But ultimately, people have a difficult time keeping off the weight permanently.

One school of thought is that people have a lot of toxins built up in their bodies. Their bodies are filled with deadly pesticides, toxins and impurities, and it makes it really difficult to lose weight. So that is one of the reasons why some people love the master cleanse and periodically go through a cleanse in order to keep their body clean and healthy.

All in all, the master cleanse is very simple to figure out. It is a diet that uses liquid to help detoxify the body. And once the body begins to detoxify, and your system starts to clear out, your body will naturally begin to lose weight as well.

A big part of the weight loss is obviously going to come because you eventually switch over to a liquid only diet. Without all of the excess calories going through your system, you are definitely bound to lose weight. Plus you’re going to clean out all the toxic junk and that’s going to help you lose even more weight as well.

Many people do not realize that the master cleanse was originally created to help treat ulcers and acts as a detoxification system so that people can clean out their body. The added side effect that many did not realize was that it was also a great way to lose weight and it’s very effective.

If you’re going to do the master cleanse, please follow it very strictly for a 3 to 10 day period, depending on how much toxins you have built up in your body and how much it needs to be cleaned. The diet itself is broken up into three phases and they are very simple to understand.

The phases include:

  • phase 1 – ease in
  • phase 2 – the lemonade diet
  • phase 3 – ease out

Technically, the ease in period is not actually required but it is recommended as a way to help your body prepare for the changes in cleansing that you are about to undergo.

The first day of the ease in phase is when you switch over to eating living food. The second day of the ease in phase is fruit and vegetable juices as well as soup broths. And day three is strictly orange juice only.

When doing the master cleanse, reaching phase 2 – the lemonade diet – is when the rubber really hits the road. This is the portion of the cleanse that is really going to start to detoxify your body and initiate the weight loss.

During this phase you are going to consume a special lemonade, and it is the only thing that you are supposed to consume during the day. You will drink it at least 6 to 12 times a day or at any time that you are hungry.

The lemonade drink contains:

  • 2 tablespoons of grade B organic maple syrup – avoid imitation maple because it will contain additives that you are trying to remove from your body.
  • 2 tablespoons of organic lemon juice – freshly squeezed lemon juice only.
  • 10 ounces of filtered water
  • 1/10 of a teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper

While in the lemonade phase, you can either take a morning saltwater flush or a nightly herbal laxative in order to help clear out the body.

Easing Out Of the Lemonade Diet

Without going into too many details, the ease out phase is the same as the ease in phase, but you’re going to do it in reverse:

  • Day one – drinking orange juice
  • Day two – soup broths, vegetable juices and fruit juices
  • Day three – the living food diet
