Member Teleconference
On Thursday, January 18th, the CHT Member Teleconference focused on Secretary Leavitt’s Transparency Initiative, described for us by the Secretary at CHT’s annual Medicaid Conference last September. As Newt Gingrich mentioned at that time, CHT viewed this initiative, embodied in an Executive Order issued by President Bush on August 22, 2006, to be one of the most significant and positive health policy developments in recent years.
In this call, the leader of the Secretary’s initiative, Andrew Croshaw, reviewed the current status of the effort, outlined the goals and priorities for the coming year, and described concrete opportunities for CHT members to participate.
