Michelle Stein
Communications Director

Kyle Meikle Michelle Stein joined the Center for Health Transformation in October of 2007 as the Communications Director. In this capacity, she is responsible for developing the strategic communications vision for The Center and directing its media relations efforts. The position has her working closely with member organizations' media personnel to help leverage press opportunities. She writes op-eds, columns, speeches and oversees the content portions of the website’s news center and all forms of e-communications.

For over a decade, Michelle Stein has worked in the field of communications in Washington, DC, with an emphasis on healthcare. Prior to joining The Center, she served as Spokeswoman and Communications Director for United States Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. of Texas. In her role at Congressman Burgess’ office, Michelle predominantly focused on aggressively pitching the Congressman’s healthcare priorities in Washington circles through trade, international and local media outlets, as well as to constituents.

Prior to working on The Hill, Michelle managed communication efforts across national and international entities. She worked for two non-profit healthcare associations, a Fortune 100 telecommunications corporation, and the Smithsonian Institution. In these varying positions, she served as an official spokeswoman, developed public relation strategies, managed both internal and external relations, fostered outreach partnerships and publicized special events.

Michelle Stein received her Bachelor and Master of Arts Degrees from Baylor University in Texas where her focus was on American Political History. She currently resides in Washington, DC.
