Gingrich's Center Opposes Obama's Plan to Force Through Healthcare Bill Americans Don't Want
WASHINGTON, DC—In response to President Barack Obama’s urging of Congress to vote on a health reform plan by March 18, the Center for Health Transformation (CHT) is encouraging citizens to say no to the President’s two weeks notice to the American people. Instead, the Center is encouraging Americans to insist upon more personal power in their healthcare decisions, including starting over with healthcare legislation that is bipartisan and involves input from the American people.
CHT is calling on the American people to take action. On the organizations’s website, visitors can learn about existing healthcare legislation and find out how to contact their Member of Congress to voice their opinion.
“Time is of the essence,” said CHT President and CEO Nancy Desmond. “The president is trying in less than two weeks to force through comprehensive legislation that will affect one-sixth of our economy. Now is the time for the American people to make their voices heard.”
CHT has proposed that Congress and President Obama embrace several, smaller pieces of health reform legislation that include civil justice reform; rooting out fraud, waste and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid; expanding the use of health IT; and making it easier for individuals to purchase their own health insurance.

About the Center for Health Transformation (CHT)
The Center for Health Transformation is a high-impact collaboration of private and public sector leaders committed to creating a 21st Century Intelligent Health System that saves lives and saves money for all Americans. CHT is based on the following premise: Small changes or reactionary fixes to separate pieces of the current system have not and will not work. We need a system-wide transformation. Unlike other alliances, CHT unites stakeholders across the spectrum (providers, employers, vendors, trade associations, disease groups, think tanks) and government leaders at both the state and federal level to drive transformation according to a shared vision and key principles.
