Letters to the editor

Editor:

I have been hearing a lot of different opinions about the House health care plan known as H.R. 3200. The administration said there was no "death panel" in the plan. The trouble is the president has not presented a plan, so it is up to us to take H.R. 3200 as his plan. It is not called a "Death Panel." A Choice Commissioner will determine the amount of care you get as your health deteriorates.

I checked online to see what the facts were and came across two outlines by different people about this plan; one is Peter Fleckstein. Taking the two reviews and checking www.healthtransformation.net and www.bing.com I compared the bill H.R. 3200, the parts I read were identical. Health transformation has removed H.R. 3200 from its Web page.

Due to the limitations of 400 words I cannot pass on all I checked out against the reports. Persons can check out the bill. If they are interested.

Remember, the president said you could keep your private plan. Well Sec. 102 outlaws private insurance plans after this is passed. He said at two meetings, during the campaign. (SEE and AFL-CIO) if they got the White House and both chambers of Congress it would take 10-15 years but the government would run healthier.

Sec. 122 health care will be rationed.

Sec. 123 Health Benefits Advisory Committee will decide what treatment you will get.

Sec. 163 The government will have real-time access to all your bank records, for Electronic transfer of funds.

Sec. 164 subsidized for retirees of union members and community action or.

Sec. 223 Companies can not sue the government for price fixing, no judicial review.

Sec. 401. Tax on persons not having acceptable coverage 2.5 percent of income.

This is a short list of some items in this bill. I know some will not believe our government is thinking this, but the proof is in the bill. The gentleman, who stated he was assisted to respond to my letters, should read the bill and not use talking points in his response.
