David Merritt Speaks at the Premiere of the Nebraska State-wide Health Information Exchange

Project Director David Merritt represented the Center for Health Transformation in Lincoln, NE at the premiere of the Nebraska State-wide Health Information Exchange, one of the first statewide health information exchanges in the country.
Since March 2005, healthcare industry experts from across the state have volunteered their efforts in building the framework for the statewide health information exchange to help provide critical healthcare information at the point of care while giving physicians the information they need to treat their patients. In creating the non-profit governance structure, the Privacy and Security Policies, and the Operational Procedures, NeHII, Inc has set the stage for an electronic health information exchange to improve quality tracking analysis and help control the escalating cost of healthcare in Nebraska.
Merritt provided attendees with a national perspective on healthcare reform. Also in attendance were Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy.
