This was an exciting opportunity to hear from CCHIT Chairman Mark Leavitt on the release of the CCHIT Phase II requirements for EHR certification. Due to the timeliness of this release, we made this our July Member Conference Call.
We wanted to make our members aware that yesterday the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) released its Phase II interim requirements and procedures designed to create a credible process for certifying electronic health records for the ambulatory care setting. Like the Phase I draft which was released in April, CCHIT will have a 30-day public comment period ending on August 11.
The Center for Health Transformation welcomed this open opportunity to review and comment on CCHIT’s proposals. CHT formed a work group to draft our response. Members of the workgroup include BellSouth, Booz Allen Hamilton, MedImpact, HealthTrio, Clearwave, Kryptiq, and HCA.
