Christie Zimmerman
Meetings and Special Events Coordinator

Christie Zimmerman joined the Center for Health Transformation in November 2006 to serve as Staff Assistant. In that role she helps to coordinate CHT member meetings and special events. Ms Zimmerman aids in office management and provides support to member services as well as to project directors which includes assisting with research, project requests and data collection.

Prior to joining the Center for Health Transformation, Ms. Zimmerman worked in Quito, Ecuador as the Dean of Women at Covenant Bible College Ecuador. She coordinated student events, activities and outreach programs on campus and in Quito. She also organized meetings, mentored students and taught English as a second language in the community.

Previous experiences included working for two summers with Merge Ministries in Mexico and Honduras. Ms. Zimmerman provided leadership to North American short-term mission groups. She aided in cultural preparation, group construction projects, children’s programs and Spanish/English interpretation as necessary.

Ms. Zimmerman received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications and minors in Business Administration and Spanish from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. She conducted original quantitative research on Latin American minority portrayals in magazine advertisements during her collegiate experience. Ms. Zimmerman also studied International Business and attended the Instituto de Lengua Española in San Jose, Costa Rica. She collaborated to develop a program to formalize in-house training and education for employees of Café Britt, an international gourmet coffee exporting company.

Ms. Zimmerman is a Minnesota native and currently resides in Northern Virginia.
