The Center for Health Transformation is proud to host its 4th annual "Creating a 21st Century Medicaid System" on September 16 in Washington, DC. Center Founder Newt Gingrich and Project Director Jim Frogue will provide opening remarks.
CMS Acting Administrator Kerry Weems and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford (R) will discuss the future of Medicaid, both from the federal and state perspectives. West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin (D) will provide a videotaped address.
Also featured will be a panel of health secretaries: Gary Alexander, Director of the Department of Human Services of Rhode Island; Holly Benson, Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration of Florida; Mike Fogarty, Chief Executive Officer of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority; Bob Hagedorn, Chair of the Colorado State Senate's Health and Human Services Committee; Alan Levine, Secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals of Louisiana; and Rhonda Medows, Commissioner of the Department of Community Health for the State of Georgia.
The day's events will also include dialogue amongst featured Center members on transforming solutions for Medicaid, with the emphasis on providing quality care for those in need, while maintaining lower cost.
