Newt Gingrich Speaks about Health Transformation at the Health Care Summit

Center founder New Gingrich was the keynote speaker April 8^th at the Health Care Summit in Oklahoma City.  The event, held at the Cox Convention Center, was sponsored by the Oklahoma State Chamber and Integris Health.

During the dinner, Gingrich focused on the moral obligation, above and beyond the monetary need, to transform healthcare.  Gingrich detailed three forces of change that would ultimately lead to lower cost and better health:  increased personal responsibility in one’s own health, greater price and quality transparency for the care one can receive, and wider use of electronic medical records.  Concentrating on preventive care and early intervention, in addition to disease management and acute care, is vital to bringing about successful change, according to Gingrich.
